Dan and Jean Gross formed Rejoicing in Grace Ministries International (RGMI) in 1997 after living as missionaries in Singapore and the Philippines. Dan says, “I knew what I wanted to do, where I wanted to do it, and how I wanted to do it. The most efficient way to accomplish our goal was to form RGMI.” The primary aim is to preach the gospel of grace and teach the word of God rightly divided throughout Asia. Dan has preached to tens of thousands of people in India, Malaydia, Nepal, the Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka and other places. RGMI has a 3-step plan:
Of course, these steps have to be done in order, so the beginning years were largely devoted to Steps #1 and #2. In recent years, RGMI has been actively working in all three stages and has seen a very enthusiastic response from the saints in Asia. There are more and more churches in Asia with well-trained leaders who preach the gospel of grace and teach the word of God rightly divided.
In December 2004, there was a terrible tsunami in Asia causing hundreds of thousands of deaths. One devastated area was a place in India where Dan had preached only a few days before the tsunami. RGMI started an orphanage to care for children who had lost both parents in the tsunami and had no relatives able and willing to care for them. The orphanage has been operating successfully since 2005 and has made a tremendous difference in the lives of these children. As the original children graduate and move on to jobs or further education, they are replaced by other children who have no caregivers. More information and photos of the children can be found at RGMI India Orphanage page on Facebook.
